Itinerary at a Glance*

Day One:  Friday,  January 3, 2025-Welcome to Barcelona!
Guests arrive in Barcelona*.  Group orientation at 2pm.  We'll kick off the tour with a visit to a lively market experience.  Then we'll head over to Recinte Modernisme Sant Pau- a beautifully designed historic hospital  with colorful tiled roofs and lovely landscaping. 
​*Please note all participants are responsible for airfare and making arrangements to arrive in Barcelona.  If leaving from the USA,  all participants must depart the USA on January 2nd, 2024 on  a flight that arrives at the Barcelona airport no later than 11:30am January 3, 2024.  The begins at 2pm.

Day Two:  Saturday, January 4, 2025: Intro to Gaudi and Modernisme Architecture
After breakfast in your apartments we'll take a stroll onto the Block of Discord showcasing the creations of the best of Barelona's Modernisme architects.  Then we'll have a tour of Casa Batllo, an exquisitely designed home for the Batllo family.  Afterwards we'll take a peek at the exterior of the home of Barcelona's very own Chocolate Baron and step into the cafe for --Hot Chocolate Barcelona style!      The evening is yours to explore the nearby Passeig de Gracia featuring upscale shopping, Gaudi's Casa Mila and promenade.

Day Three:  Sunday, January 5,  2025-Sinagogue Tour, Barri Gotic and Free Time
Today we'll explore some of the religious sites of Barcelona including a guided tour of the historic Sinagogue.  We'll explore the exterior of the Barcelona Cathedral and the labyrinth of medieval streets in the Barri Gothic.  After, you'll have a bit of free time to explore on your own. 

Day Four:   Monday, January 6,2025-Gaudi's Sagrada Familia & We'll  explore two of Gaudi's most famous creations,  Parc Guell and then the stunning interior of Sagrada Familia.  .  Each of you will receive an audio guide so you can explore at your leisure. 
Dinner on your own.     

Day Five:  Tuesday, January 7th, 2025-La Ribera Neighborhood
We'll start out with a  visit to Palau de la Musica, then stop in for some amazing Hot Chocolate at the local Chocolate Museum.  You'll have the afternoon to explore the area which hosts a church built by Mariners,  a Picasso Museum, and renowned tapas bars--and of course lots of shopping.  We'll end the evening with a  visit to Tarantos- a local Tablao hosting some of the best local Flamenco dancers.  You'll never be the same!

Day Six:   Wednesday, January 8th, 2025-Zaragoza
We'll get up early today to take a high speed train to the often skipped over Zaragoza. Once we check in we'll mosey on over to  Pilar Cathedral--an impressive multi-steepled cathedral.  For dinner we'll explore "the Tube" for some tapas and then we'll end the evening with a night visit to the some of the best Roman Ruins outside of Italy.

Day Seven:  Thursday, January 9th, 2025-Zaragoza
This morning we'll enjoy a pleasant breakfast together in the hotel then catch a taxi for our high speed train back to Barcelona.  You'll have the afternoon free to catch up on any last minute shopping or site you just gotta see before you head back home!  We'll end the evening with a culinary experience together in Barcelona.

Day Eight: Friday, January 10th, 2025-Farewell Friends!
Time to wrap things up!  We hope you enjoyed the tour.  After breakfast we'll jump on the  High Speed train and arrive at the airport just in time for your flights.  Thanks for joining us on this adventure!
